Story: How an Orthodox Behavior Ruined His Wife’s Life?
Disclaimer: Please read the story only if you can handle the sad tale and sad endings.
Hi, I am telling you the story of a small girl named Anita born in the Orthodox City of India. This city is one of the oldest cities in Uttar Pradesh, India. I remember my mother told me that there was once a terrible conflict between Hindus and Muslims. It was tyrannical because people literally snatched Hindu Girls and cut their breasts in front of their families. I trembled when I heard that they hung all those breasts on the roads. :( And then, Hindus also killed many Muslims at that time.
When things got a little better, then a beautiful love story began with a man and a woman. They were teenagers. The name of the boy was Gulshan. Anita used to live two streets away from Gulshan’s house, and she used to visit him often. To know why? Let’s understand the relations between their families and the background story.
Anita’s father passed away when she was a kid. So, her mother was working as a maid in different houses to run the show. During that, Anita and her young brother used to be alone at home. Gulshan’s parents were closed to Anita’s parents, so they asked her to leave children at their home to be taken care of.
Gulshan had five siblings, two elder sisters, one younger brother, and two younger sisters. So, Anita was a good fellow of Gulshan’s younger sisters. They had glorious childhood memories together, like playing, “Simon says, Jump in the air,” Gutte, being caught, and many more. I loved the moment when I heard that Gulshan’s elder sister used to gather all the children every evening at the roof. Because she used to tell fairy tales to the children, and everyone used to enjoy it. Gulshan and Anita used to see each other while playing. Anita always felt something different in his presence. Like butterflies in the stomach, sense of nervousness but slight blushing moments. She could hear her heart pounding when he was around. :)
During this time, Gulshan’s mother used to call Anita “Bahu” means daughter-in-law. Initially, Anita was confused. However, she got to know that their parents had already decided Gulashan’s and Anita’s marriage in the future. Anita was actually happy deep inside because she knew that she has feelings for Gulshan.
One day Gulshan asked Anita to meet at a nearby but isolated place. Anita was happy and nervous at the same time. However, she was confused if she should go or not. She decided to go, and that was the most precious day of her life. Gulshan PROPOSED her!!! OMG! It was an astonishing moment for her that she never forgot. Anita said, Yes.
Gulshan went to another city for work so that he could earn and make their lives better. Their long-distance relationship started, and they spoke over the phone for hours. At that time, seldom people had their personal phone, and it was expensive. So, Gulshan saved some money to purchase a mere phone (still expensive) and gifted her to talk. He used to call her from the phone booth. Those flashes were also one of the cherished moments for Anita.
They got married at an early age compared to the 2020 generation. Anita was ready to start her new life with Gulshan at the new place where Gulshan used to work. It was like a fairy tale for her. The house wasn’t massive, but it was enough for both of them to live happily. They spent ample time together and collected infinite pleasant memories traveling around. Then, they had a fight one day because Gulshan was drunk. Yes, Gulshan was an Alcoholic!
Anita tried to make him understand and thought things would go better. Then, their family got a little bigger. They had two sons now. Everything was going well for a long time, but one day, they had a fight again. I am not talking about the small debates that happen between couples. No! It was a nightmare for Anita. In the morning, Anita had marks all over her body. She was beaten.
Then, Gulshan felt terrible and promised her that he won’t do this again. But Gulshan had no control over him now. One day, Gulshan decides to marry another girl who was actually 10 years younger than him. That day Anita’s heart broke. She couldn’t endure and asked Gulshan if he wants to be with another girl or them (Anita and their 2 sons)? Gulshan’s answer was shocking. He said all of them, which means he wanted to be with two wives together. He said he loves Anita too. Then another girl was pretty aware of the situation, so she denies for the marriage.
Gulshan chose to forget it and move on, although he was still alcoholic. Besides, fights didn’t stop. Gulshan always asked Anita to be in the boundaries. Anita was kneeling inside & had now believed that she was a puppet now. She tried her best to impress him and cook better, but nothing was really working. The more she tried, the more she was hurt.
The modern age was here, so they had their personal phone, Gulshan had built a good living for themselves. One day Anita checked Gulshan’s mobile phone, and her heart was broken again. She asked Gulshan, why is he doing this? Why does he talk to another woman? Yes, Gulshan was indeed cheating on her. But he got aggressive because Anita was not supposed to point on him. Anita had to keep quiet but was going under depression, losing herself. Slowly, a few things began to happen, which shouldn’t have. Since their kids were adolescents now, the house was not enough anymore, it was small. Gulshan and Anita didn’t have their private room; therefore, Gulshan started misbehaving with Anita in front of their children.
Anita tried to avoid it and overcome the situation, but nothing was working for her. She used to cry the whole night, keeping a cloth in her mouth so that her children don’t listen. But they did. Almost every other night was turning into a nightmare for her with sexual violence and fights for small things.
In this story, I called Gulshan Orthodox because he never let her wife live her life. He dominated her and did sexual violence. In the name of the running the show, he thought himself a king that everyone should listen to him whether it is wrong or right!
At this moment, Anita was frightened, mute, and pessimistic that no hope or strength was left on her. One day, she got sick and expected Gulshan will take good care of her. But! He initially said: “For a little sickness, she acts too much and will be alright by herself!” He ignored her! Anita’s condition was getting even worse. Gulshan was scared now and tried his best to get her better. He took her to the hospital in the town. After the checkup, the doctor said it was late and suggested taking her to the bigger hospital. While they were on the way, Gulshan asked Anita if she needs something to eat or feel anything uncomfortable.
But Anita never answered …
If you are a woman, then never keep quiet or be scared. If you are a man, then understand that your wife is a human too. If you can’t be with her then don’t torture her.
This is the story of my well-known. Anita was like a mother to me and she shared everything during her life. I miss her :(
